There is lots of discussion going about that. Even here on the Bang subforum. Many argue between 5, 6 or 7.

6 is just straight up unbalanced. the only real choice is between 5 and 7. but 7 gives you a lot more interaction, makes the range actually matter, and allows for a lot more strategy in terms on revealing or hiding your role.

It's "fully released" now. It was in beta previously, so you could already play it. Now you can also play it in Arena or Tournaments
