Why does Kalah have fewer players than other popular games?

Sometimes I feel like BGA is getting boring: we need something more than arena and normal games, if someone with a premium account is going to create some tournaments i'll be happy to join, but right now there's nothing exciting to do: there are only a few really active players.

Another interesting thing that can easily be made is to create a group and organize friendly tournaments (with no elo variations) or friendly matches guided with text chat by strong players during some days of the week.
Not only this will keep the community active but it will help weaker players (like me ) to improve their skills and create a new competition

please tell me if I made some errors my english is pretty basic

I would really like to participate in an elite round-robin tournament to face strong players. The arena, unfortunately, encourages strong players to avoid each other.

At the moment all we can do is just to create some tournaments and to make a new group (community, whatever it's called in english version of BGA) for friendly matches...

I have a month of premium account for free ready to activate so if you tell me some dates to make a couple tournaments, I'll create them.

For the group we have to decide one or two days of the week where most of us are free to play and just play some friendly matches. This can catch some beginners players' attention and maybe can bring just a bit more competitiveness to our community

It makes sense to create 1 (one) elite round-robin tournament for players with ratings over 500 with World Cup status I don't know who could create it.

The style of forming groups to discuss strategies and playing in friendly mode is very interesting. The only thing I don't agree with is that you are weak.

at the moment it's just a basic concept: i wrote just a few things in the descriptions and until 5-10 people don't join there's not much to do with it

It is necessary to raise the player level and increase the number of continuing players, but if we divide the Arena mode into equal classes such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Elite, etc. and match players within each class, and allow them to move up or down in class depending on the points they have, then players will be able to play against people of a similar level reliably, which I think will make playing Kalaha more fun.

P.S. theese tournaments are open for everyone above 100 ELO and I CAN'T make an experts and masters only tournament because of my elo level (399 right now) so to make theese we need help from another player

I think it’s a big mistake to teach beginners Kalah-4, since Kalah-4 depends on the first move much more than Kalah-6 and there is a different strategy. Then beginners have to relearn and try to forget unnecessary things.

I know it is a mistake and I'm not going to complain about this since i'm the worst player over here, but according to my experience, kalah 4 can catch more people's attention (at least for beginners) and it's all about finding new players and "control" them trough the best players' advice (also I wouldn't be here without some expert players that gave me many useful tips: I sterted playing kalah 4 since the tutorial had the same stone setup)
