As you may know, Twilight Imperium 4th Edition is getting a major physical expansion later this month: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/n ... ders-edge/

Thanks to Fantasy Flight Games, BGA now has a teaser from this expansion. And before the questions start, no, this doesn't mean expansion content on BGA (at this time). For now the priority is still finishing the game game, which means the Ghosts of Creuss are my focus for the coming weeks.

But while you wait on Creuss, you may wish to test Civilized Society:

* Did you ever wish all players could score in the status phase, instead of ending immediately at 10 points? Now you can do that.
* Did you ever wish you knew more public objectives so you could plan for them? Now you know them all.

Good luck and have fun!

Wow, that is nice, a new way to play the game that will shake strat!
But it's also a big nerf of impérial strategy card.

Thanks for the announcement and your hard work!

Forgive me but I will be a little negative here. I see a lot of new players testing, not new as in beginners, actually players that don't even know the rules. Please don't join games if that's the case, or at least give a heads up. You won't do any testing, and not everyone is willing to play and teach.

New players will be playing in beta, but yes I highly advise politely telling other players at the table if you are new.

The other players may be happy to teach, but if not, it's best to vote and abandon the game at that point instead of weeks later.

Fantastic way to tease the new expansion. Thank you!

I have already planned to pick this up when it becomes available at my local board game shop to support them.

Hi! I'm really looking forward to this. I could play it in alpha, but as a beginner I might rather wait for the beta when all the factions are in etc, for the more complete experience.
How close are we to hitting that 100% on the progress bar for it to get out of alpha?

Probably a long time, unfortunately. I was informed by BGA that they require zombie mode to handle passing or acting in all possible situations, rather than merely eliminating a player who gets angry and quits, even though the publisher felt elimination could work in such a situation.

Full zombie support involves reviewing, designing, and testing upwards of 100 different logic points for automatic play, so I fear the time involved will be immense.

In the meantime I am working on the remaining factions.

I wish I could now what happens on the backstage of these negotiations... ^^ just as a comparison example, Formula D has been in Alpha for almost 2 years now. The game is working great and they keep adding track and features, but for some reason it is still in Alpha. A few months ago they changed the artwork and removed the tracks that are available in real life, suggeseeting that there is an issue with the current Formula D brand manager or something like that.

I'm just bringing this up to say that it seems really impossible to predict when wll a game leave alpha. It might even never leave alpha for what I've read. I keep my fingers crossed hoping that TI4 gets fully released in BGA in 2026 and I'll always thank GT Schemer for all the hardwork done in this adaptation.

At least we can clearly see that FFG is supporting this in a very strong way. Let's hope they keep going like that.
