The graphics have unfortunately hindered the game experience and now it is very difficult to distinguish between resources. Please include an option to use the old graphics in the same vein as carcassonne?

I wonder (...) if BGA keeps track of how many players adjusted their settings because they prefer the older version and whether or not they will communicate player feedback to the publishers.
Personally could not handle the new graphics at all, but hey, guess we are just spoiled by how awesome this website usually is.

Hi,

Following your feedback on card cost icons size, we re-work the game art to enlarge the icons.

Now, the icons of the new edition are +21% bigger compared to the first edition version.

The link on BGA to the "rules" PDF for 7 Wonders should be updated.

The current link on BGA's 7 Wonders page goes to https://rprod.com/uploads/file/7WONDERS ... _COLOR.pdf, which contains the 2010 rules with building cards on pages 10 and 11 that are no longer in the 2020 edition, and leaves out buildings that are. While BGA does show what points under what conditions the new cards give when a player hovers over them, the text is not as detailed as in the official rules.

In particular, I am confused about the Decorators Guild. When a player "hovers" over it, the hover text says "+7 Victory points / wonder with all stages in your own city". Does this mean that you get 7 victory points PER WONDER BUILT (but only if you have built all of them?)? I ask this because the Shipowners Guild hover text says "+1 Victory points / Raw Material, Manufactured Good and Guild in your own city" and I know that definitely means 1 victory point PER Raw Material, Manufactured Good and Guild in your own city, and in all the other Guilds with a "/", the slash means "per". If the Decorators Guild does indeed give 7 victory points per wonder, that is a ridiculously overpowered card, worth 14, 21, or 28 points if all wonders have been built! I don't think this interpretation is correct.

Maybe the correct text should be "+7 Victory points if all stages are complete in your own city" ? I haven't played yet, so I don't know, but please clarify.

I did a brief search on the web, but could not find a PDF of the 2020 rules.

Hi,

The experience of our boardgame group is that the previous version of the interface and the presentation for 7 wonders was among the best we'd experienced on the site. The newer version, while certainly prettier, was very buggy for us. We frequently struggled to select our card options, all of us needing frequent page refreshes sometimes even due to page crashes. The new presentation made the resource symbols much harder to see, and even harder if you have any degree of colour blindness or are playing on a laptop screen.

The beauty of the older interface and presentation was how easy it was to parse all the information; we collectively very much felt that had been lost.

We appreciate a lot of work went into this, but we'll be sticking with using the older version option.

Cheers,

Sorry, I also prefer the previous version's graphics. Why change such a good implementation!?

My initial impressions, after spending an evening playing the new edition, is that it is harder for us old timers to win with the new edition but that I do like the graphics and hinting, and it therefore speeds up play somewhat. Overall, for people like myself, who only play it occasionally, it seems to be a win. Certainly it'll be easier to master and play on this platform with the new graphics.

Has anyone had issues with getting the same wonder repeatedly? I had Rhodes like four times in a row and I think it's gotta be something with their random number generator.
