4 moves per day.
3 moves per day.
1 move per day.

The next likely person comes along, is also a 1 mover per day - the default, and that table gets filled leaving me all alone in the 4 moves per day table.
Am my prediction was correct:

Congratulations jennakaya:

Apparently the 2 seconds after you attempt to join your Not Alone Arena game is far more important than the 10 days I've been waiting.

This isn't new, and has always been the case in Arena. Therefore, even someone with a high ELO rating has to start again from a lower league each Arena season and work their way back up. That's part of it.
Strong players can be seeded according to ELO or previous Arena results, like pro sports or other seasonal tournaments/leagues.
They do get seeded by previous Arena results I think. Like if you reach elite one season you don't start as bronze the next, you start in diamond or something like that

Example
1stMikeIsHereMikeIsHere
+10 -> 256

2ndFirst MyrsFirst Myrs
-11 -> 259
Here is an example where I played someone with a better Backgammon ranking than I, at the start of the game,
But because I am diamond league and he was gold league I only received 1 pt for winning this game I was only 47% chance to win in the first place.

While there are pros and cons for seeding players up front, there is not much speaking against for rewarding points based on overal skill of the opponent you defeated. So in the example above, there is no problem in the Elo-high-ranked player starting in Bronze or Gold while MikeisHere could still get more than one point for the win. I think that would make the whole system more fair.

But what if a strong player took a season off, or is starting new in the arena -- again it was weird to see a strong player in gold, two below diamond, three below elite

If they take a season off they drop lower then again. It would be the same in pro sports. In tennis the Williams sisters used to barely play any tournaments so when they game to the majors they would be ranked lower than what they were.

If they are strong enough then they should move up quickly to diamond or elite in the end, I also personally find that being strong in casual games and being strong in arena are quite different too. I find though progressing in certain ranks a bit difficult in games with fewer players and with all ranking stuff the system discourages the top players from actually playing.

Perhaps if you start in Arena with no rank/hidden rank and based on the result of your first 3 matches you get placed in a league.

Please change rules for many games to have 1vs1
Like Stone Age and Tock - why I have to loose points, because of my partner.

Arena - 1 on 1

Is it written somewhere what is the tie-breaker after a season? The player who got the score last is first?
