I hope the Tuscany expansion happens one day. I like Viticulture but it feels lacking without the expansion. So much so that I won’t play it without the expansion - physical or digital.

I agree, having the "essential edition" variants would be great. Not a lot of interest in playing it without having the option to use these...

By the way, in one of his videos, Jamey Stegmaier mentioned the fact that he gave his sign off on the Tuscany BGA adaptation. So except if there was a misunderstanding, the legal background shall be fine
No misunderstanding here. Tuscany extended board is in alpha, see this thread:
https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=229986
Unfortunately Jamey decided to add the extended board only but that's what was requested most, isn't it?

This is an amazing news! I played with all the modules and while each of them is fun I think that extended board is the dealbreaker, especially for 2 player games.

I throw my torch and pitchfork in with the mob, even though I'm probably voting for an upcharge to my subscription eventually.
I don't know, I just learned this game and it looks fun, but I have heard that it is not to be played without Tuscany. It's sad to think that the game might not be even worth trying as it is now. I'm still going to though. Heck, I own it in person and playing it here makes it just so easy to learn.

I'm not sure what are you trying to say. You can play it with the Tuscany extended board. Why are you sad about it?

I think Silly is suggesting that (as others have noted in the tabletop version) that Viticulture is almost exclusively better played WITH the Tuscany expansion, and that playing the Base Viticulture is not worthy of playing at all, without it. And he is sad that Viticulture (at the moment) is only available on BGA, and Tuscany is only available in ALPHA.
I have yet to learn or play Viticulture AT ALL (table or digital), but I very much want to try it out here on BGA before considering a purchase. I have only ever heard good things about it, but I am slightly averse to Heavy Euro, Resource Management, Simulating Life-Work games in general. I too would be hopeful that the Base game is sufficiently fun without Tuscany, such that I would be encouraged enough to also continue playing when the Tuscany expansion is available.
Aside: If it is just a game of running around trading water and wheat, for jugs and wine - I don't have much hope for it.

Just checked. It went to beta around the beginning of December 2025 and it's live since ~5 February.
Are you saying that when you try to create a table, Tuscany is available as an alpha option only? Something is definitely wrong there if that's so

I'm a bit confused, and maybe I don't understand the Automa (solo) rules the way I thought I did. I opened up a Solo game on the new Tuscany board and the game started off normally. When I went into my first Summer season, the first thing Automa did was choose a card that blocked "Plant a Vine" and "Buy or Sell a Vine". When he placed his workers on these actions, he put them in the middle (slot #2) slot for both. I thought in a 2-player game (which this is because I'm playing versus Automa), that ONLY the first slot (far left) is available for both of us to play. If he's able to put his workers into slot #2, then what is he ever blocking for me to not be able to do? I went ahead and placed a worker in the #1 slot for Plant a Vine and it let me do that, even though he had his worker in slot #2 for that action? Am I missing something, or is the solo version of Tuscany not working correctly yet?

The main of thing of this confusing behaviour is that the game previously was developed without having Tuscany in mind (by another dev). And the whole solo-bonus logic was built with the idea that first worker space never have bonuses. Tuscany breaks this logic. What I've done is that the space without the bonus is always available in solo game and it's the space automa places its meeples. Technically and logically it should be according to the rulebook. If you see a difference with the rulebook - please create a bug. Yes, that might look confusing but I think it should work correctly logically
