I have visual impairments, including severe colour blindness. The new design is hideous from my perspective and clearly the designers have not consulted properly with people with these impairments. I know the cards have a symbol, but even that is hard for me to distinguish. Please make the old option available. Designers really shouldn''t try to fix things that aren't broken.
interesting, i'm colorblind and couldn't play the previous implementation (around 3 years ago). After a quick preview, the current palette seems much more manageable.
This is interesting and I think reinforces the point that having options would benefit many more players. As there are lots of different forms of colourblindness, it's a tricky point to argue sometimes that something is 'now colourblind friendly' - especially when dealing with the level of detail that are on the new cards.
I'm pleased it works better for you and hope they implement a simple toggle between versions.
As I've mentioned in a post above, the text on the card fails standard WCAG accessibility checks so it isn't accessible for those with common visual impairments who could otherwise play if those standards were met

There's 51 posts but it's hard to tell how many posters posted more than once or are unique posters.
Please thumbs up this suggestion in lost cities bug report forum -

Another point is, that I find the points per column hard to read/distinguish from what's behind them. At least on tablet (only checked tablet so far). And the tablet view is a mess. A lot of BGA wood panels between play area and player cards. Just not good.
Oh, and I've tried to find that new edition this version is supposed to resemble. I cannot find anything similar! And even the latest designs I could find use the handshake iconography snd not this ridiculous "×2"! I think these "official comments" need to be evaluated and maybe even validated. I'm seriously considering sending a comprehensive email to Kosmos.

The new cards are very hard to read and to tell colors apart. It feels overly busy and it takes a lot more effort to try to understand what I'm looking at. Unfortunately, I won't be able to continue playing the game how it is. Very sad because it was one of my favorites!
The x2 and 2 are also hard to tell apart and it's very hard to read. The scores in each column are hard to read as well, partly because the text is so small.
I play mainly on mobile web browser, and it doesn't feel mobile friendly anymore to me.

Merci de bien vouloir remettre la version initiale.
Je ne comprends rien aux nouvelles règles.

You can try this method of switching to the previous design if this helps:

The new design is awful. No fun to play. At lease I would like to have the choice to go back to the old one. it was a lot smoother to play.

BGG does not list this new edition in the "versions" section but I did hear a recent interview with the designer in which he mentioned that a new edition of Lost Cities was on the way.
