I also tried deleting and reinstalling the extension.
I'm an idiot.
I fixed a bug with this feature about a month ago, and since then it only works if dark mode is activated :D
And since I always have dark mode on, I didn't notice...

While waiting for a fix, you can open the extension options (right-click on the extension icon), go to the “Custom CSS” tab and add :

#logs .log.hidden { display: none !important; }

(The extension adds the “hidden” class to the lines to be hidden, but the CSS rule only exists in dark mode.)

Thanks for the report!

Is there a way for the extension to constantly/periodically check your active tables so that it shows when you need to play for turn-based games? I have the table status notifications turned on in Settings > Notifications, but currently I need to click onto the extension in order for it to load and check on my tables.

I'm on Firefox if that changes anything.

Yes indeed, it's a Firefox problem.
I've just released a new version for Firefox to fix this, you can force the update now or wait until your browser does it tomorrow.
The extension should check the status of your games once a minute.
Please keep me posted.

Thanks for the quick response! I just updated the extension (says last updated July 4) and restarted Firefox, but the behavior remains unchanged.

Man... You guys will laugh but, perhaps this is not entirely my fault, although I don't know what the kind extension creator can do to avoid this from happening to anyone else. So, these days I kept hearing some chime/bell alarm thing from the pc while doing random stuff and although it was not common, I started getting paranoid and today I had time and started searching what could possibly be making that, a program, something else? Something running in the background? A virus! No, luckily it didnt' take me long to figure out it was the BGA extention, reminding me it was my turn to play. And yes I had turned that feature on but forgot about it, apparently. I felt relieved when I found it, it was the first extension on my browser I checked, yeah, I connected the dots quickly enough, I get notifications on the phone too. If by any chance this is turned on by default, in the extension, that might be a problem, for others, but if you turn it on manually, then forget about it, well, you are digging your own grave as they say, like I did. I changed the alarm sound by the way, I put some AI lady saying "Turn." Just in case I forget about it again, haha. Nah, I am not that old yet.

Wait, can the notification be a little change on the extension icon instead of a sound notification? I have to check, I despise sound notifications in general.

For me at least, the default for the extension is that notifications are off. If you click on the extension and go to settings, then notifications, there are two switches—one to turn notifications on or off, and one to turn the sound effect for them on or off. Both defaulted to off for me. You can have the notifications on with the sounds turned off, and you will just see a number on the extension icon showing how many tables you have waiting on you.

If that doesn't help, you may want to check your account settings on the BGA website, you may have notifications on there.

Yes I set it up now without sound notifications, because I saw the icon, after putting it on the bar up there, with a number of tables waiting. I am a bit worried because after playing the last one the marker "1" didn't disappear from the icon, perhaps it would with time, but when I clicked the icon it went away, yeah.

EDIT: Ok yeah it disappears after a few seconds, all good. But I am not sure the waiting tables' counter appears before you visit the website for the first time, after opening the browser.

I can confirm that notifications are deactivated by default. If they're active, it means that the extension checks the tables every minute, in which case you're seen as connected all the time as soon as the browser is open. Some players were understandably annoyed by that.
I can also confirm that sound notifications are disabled by default. I completely understand that not everyone likes it :)
And finally, normally, as soon as the browser is opened, the extension will check the status of the tables (if notifications are enabled) and display the number of tables for which you're expected.
I hope you like the extension in any case, don't hesitate to make comments if you find ways to improve it!
