Thank you for the explanation.

Also, I opened a new bug (https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=193715) which might be due to a player quitting.

If someone quit then yes, the game must be abandoned, sorry. Zombie support will not happen until later.

I implore anyone reading this thread not to quit games even during alpha. Even if zombie mode worked, it ruins the game for everyone else.

In good news, Nekro X/Y tokens are finally done and tested. That might be the single most complex effect in the game. Now I'm working on the Nekro flagship which is also complex.

Great news. Thanks a lot for your work. So far the UI feels good to me. Even on mobile.

Blown away by this and the work that must have gone into it. I'm having great fun and am very grateful to you for the hard work.

Same, I'm on my 4th BGA game already; normally I'd only get in ~1 game every ~2 years but the BGA adaptation has really re-lit the fire in my friend group and we're planning an IRL Thunder's Edge meetup soon! Thanks for bringing this to us!

Is it still possible to get an invite for the alpha/beta test? :)
I have about 30 real games behind me.

I plan to offer more public alpha invites to players who know the rules once Nekro is finished.

If anyone is curious I am still working through The Alastor flagship edge cases, like when Nekro has The Crown of Thalnos. It's unfortunately more complex than the Naalu flagship because you can have cases where Nekro continues "space combat", yet has no units physically in space (all remaining units in combat are ground forces on planets that were chosen to participate).

I will post here once the flagship is done.

So I've played a few games of TI4 on here now, and I have to say: the digital implementation is incredible. You’ve taken an extremely complex game and made it feel smooth and intuitive... seriously, you should be proud of this.

That said, I’m finding that I’m just not enjoying the experience as much as I hoped. Turn-based games take so long. I have one that’s about to hit the three-month mark, and sometimes there are days between turns especially if other players are in combat. By the time it’s my turn again, I can’t even remember what I was planning to do.

There have also been occasions where players have quit mid-game, which is incredibly frustrating and makes the whole experience feel like a waste of time.

Maybe a real-time game would be better, but if I’m going to spend that much continuous time on a game, I’d rather just play it in person.

All that said, I’m still genuinely glad this implementation exists. It's a great achievement & nice to know people can choose to scratch that TI4 itch.
