These changes are a first step towards a more enjoyable overall experience for ranking on the platform and that we heavily rely on your feedback during this process. We acknowledge the existing limitations in the current system and will continue to explore ideas for enhancing the team or cooperative game experience.
Players have provided a lot of feedback, described how the changes made their gaming experience worse, provided a thorough analysis of the changes, and also suggested better options instead of the current changes. They have also been repeatedly asking for reaction from BGA for WEEKS now. So why is there no response yet? You promised to keep monitoring the forums, and I make sure I quote you regularly so you can see.

So was this talk about monitoring and improvement just a lie? Even if it was, what's the point? You could have just declared that these are the changes, live with it, you miserable souls. But you haven't even said that. Please help me understand.

Dude, now you are just spamming everyone in the forums, having nothing to add.

The issues are not resolved, so why would I stop? The current ELO rules do continuous damage, so the situation is getting worse.

re: views, I don't think I'm the only person who refreshes this thread on a semi-daily basis, so there probably is some duplication there, regardless, its still a lot of views.

As someone who is new to the site, this doesn't give me confidence about the future of the site overall, compare it with
* where the developers are much more friendly and interactive with the community

*Moderator edit: please do not specifically name other gaming platforms

Generally, if you have nothing to add, there's no reason to keep posting. You could maybe message lordalx individually instead of broadcasting to everyone?

Why would I need to add anything? I have made plenty of arguments before. Now it's BGA admins' turn to respond, which is what I am trying to accomplish with these 'broadcasts'.

I can't message lordalx privately. Trust me, I have tried. :) But the pm link on his personal page leads to the 'contact us' landing page. I have submitted a support request there, trying to get a response for this topic, to no avail.

So here I am, writing regularly, trying to solicit some response here, for lack of a better channel.

→ Red Thumbs for competitive play
One last thing that is going to be changed in a few weeks will be the impact of the Red Thumbs.
You can currently give a Red Thumb to any player with which you had a bad game experience. This prevents you from competing against them in ranked games or the Arena, but not in Tournaments.
This system can, and unfortunately is, used to prevent some players from competing against the best players. Considering that the Red Thumb system is being abused this way, on purpose or not, we will update the way Red Thumbs are impacting the matchmaking for the next season.
Is there any plans to implement this or has it been scraped? In Terra Nova we see a player currently abusing this to avoid playing with everyone they loose to and just spam games against others to propel further on the leaderboard. As far as I am aware this can't be even reported?

I've come to the conclusion that they actually want to save resources by getting super active players to play less. Maybe they have to do that in order to make it as a business. Even with the terrible changes, there is no comparable website to play so many great games for free, or very low cost. Perhaps that simply isn't sustainable with too many really active players.

But the stated intent was to fight cheaters. They also stated that they want to improve the player experience. I find it hard to accept that they are explicitly lying.

This thread is an appropriate place to do so, and clearly quite a few people share negative sentiments towards the changes, so it's hardly one person causing issues.

At this point, the concern is that the devs are simply ignoring us. While one might argue that's an answer in itself, the issue effects quite a few people negatively, and it's worth keeping it front and center in hopes they relent.

While I would not happily accept it if they told me they intended to keep the changes, at least that would be forthright as opposed to whatever the reasoning behind the current nonsense is. I would hope that they would do better than that, however. Even just an explanation of why they're waiting would be an improvement, even if not fully satisfying.
