This is a good thing : only have game options coherent with your number of players. The opposite was a bad UX, the fact that you get used to it does not mean it's good. It's very confusing for new players to a game (see my previous example of Concept and team size).
If it were impossible to start with fewer players than configured then I would agree with you. As it is, I think we currently have the worst of both worlds.
Well, if you want to set 2 player options after selecting 3 players just in case it should be there...
Yes, with the current system, we are actually more to start a game with less than the expected number of players since the minimum acceptable for the table creator is no longer displayed and because auto-start when the time limit is reached doesn't have any minimum number of players anymore.
Frankly, creating a table wasn't complicated except for a few games with tons of options (Automobiles...) and removing the minimum number of players didn't really help for anything in my opinion.

We recommend you to use the new "number of players" as you were using the "maximum" number of players, and you should not see a big difference compared to what you had before.
I suggest you try that out. Join 10-player 6Nimmt games and report back on how successful you are.
This.

So something changed again and now the table gets cancelled if it isn't full after a certain
Hidden amount of time.
To add to the confusion, the free places are displayed as "required" in the page with all the table:
https://boardgamearena.com/gameinprogress
But they are simply stated as free in the individual table page:
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=198372356
Can you please just put the option back ?
It was actually simpler !

After 1 hour the game end.
It's the case since some years.
This has advantages and drawbacks, so it doesn't annoy me.

For me it took days.
It was a turn based game with no time limit.
In this particular instance, we would probably have started the game with less players rather than drop it.
But we didn't know when and if it would be auto-closed.
Before the range change, we didn't know when it would happen but we knew what would happen, if the chosen minimum number of players was met, it would auto-start and otherwise it would cancel.

Just made the mistake of joining a Haiclue game showing 6 players when I was the second person to join. Suddenly the game started. Now I'm in this 2-player games of Haiclue. This is NOT what I wanted to play. Now to propose abandoning the game over and over until they get the hint
Please fix this! Put it back the way it was!

Just played another "10 player" game of 6nimmt where the host started with 6 players. Just saying.

Yes this change negatively impacts my experience daily. Not for every game (there are a few I generally don’t care about player count), but for most.
Maybe they can add the START button back in when a game reaches the lowest playable count for the chosen options to make that process easier.

Being able to invite a group and the the games fill up on a first come first served basis would be a big improvement. I want to invite all my friends rather than guess which one wish to play a certain game.
