Corvus is 1st on BGA, he is allowed to be confident, everyone else on here thinking they are some TM GOATS sound so delusional

Well, both players are willing and interested... Let's see it happen. 5 games is a small sample size. Taking 3 out of 5 doesn't mean much. Ten games would be better. And would make for some good analysis.Corvus Mortis wrote: ↑11 June 2025, 21:24I would happily play 5 games against you. Maybe we do 10!RoyalRook wrote: ↑11 June 2025, 06:14 I think I am the best right now. Especially if you consider my 3p skills which cant even be touched by most top 2p players. 2p I am confident that I will beat everyone in a 5 games series. My problem is that I don't have enough time to play more live games, which is really frustrating. Last night I get to finally play couple in a roll and it felt great. Even though I was exhausted my game was still super dangerous.
Everyone is allowed to be confident in themselves mate.ArchDevious wrote: ↑12 June 2025, 00:01 Corvus is 1st on BGA, he is allowed to be confident, everyone else on here thinking they are some TM GOATS sound so delusional
Oh I am not arrogant. Unlike RR, I recognize that any strong player could easily pick up 3 of 5 games on me with some luck. At close skill levels, dozens of games would be needed to say anything with statistical significance. I’m happy to play as many games as RR is up for.jaymc1130 wrote: ↑12 June 2025, 00:23Everyone is allowed to be confident in themselves mate.ArchDevious wrote: ↑12 June 2025, 00:01 Corvus is 1st on BGA, he is allowed to be confident, everyone else on here thinking they are some TM GOATS sound so delusional
It’s the being arrogant that’s maybe less healthy/ideal. And also perhaps the fastest way to get humbled. There are, at this point, at least 2 dozen or so really top flight players who, on any given day, could be in consideration for best player in the world based on just how well they are playing that day. And maybe a hundred or more up and comers chomping at the bit and getting better every day looking to also enter the running.
It’s good for those folks to be confident. It’s not so good for them to be arrogant.
I already invited him.FrankJones wrote: ↑12 June 2025, 00:45 Anyone who is rated between 600 and 800 could be in the top spot if a winning streak occurs. Two different people have reached 800 here recently. Rook had a losing streak and was down around 500, and is now above 700. Ratings fluctuate.
At any given time, the person who can perhaps most lay claim to being the best is the person occupying that number 1 spot. Especially if that person also holds the number 1 Arena spot.
And, anyone who wants to gain that spot should be willing to challenge the top player. Rook sounds willing.
Anyone wishing to maintain the top spot should be willing to accept such a challenge. And, Corvus said he is willing.
So, the only thing left to do is for the two of them to play. I'm glad they are both willing. I am ranked 3rd in a game (a game much less famous and less popular than TFM) and I cannot get a game against either of the top 2 players.
So..... start up this 5 (or 10) game series!
Lol, never said you were mate. I merely posted that as a kind of public service announcement that having some humility in addition to some confidence tends to be optimal in life just in general. Ya need to have both if ya wanna keep improving. The confidence to challenge yourself and the humility to keep your mind open to learning new things from who ever may be able to teach them to you.Corvus Mortis wrote: ↑12 June 2025, 01:02Oh I am not arrogant. There is no reason to take any chances at all here, I just want to win for sure. He hit me with GIA and gardner rush, so I short them with heat control and econ with science hedge. I am not playing against you here. If this was our match up of course we both push it a little harder. he is like what 2100 at most?
