Thanks! For Arena Turn Based Fix!

I joined this site toward the end of the first arena season I think. I haven't been working due to the pandemic and helping to take care of my elderly father so I thought I had enough time on my hands to go for a run at the top of the Stone Age arena leader boards for the previous season. I started a bunch of turn based games and was trying to do at least one or two real time games per day. I was near the top for the first month or so. Then I got hit with a bit of depressive spell (as life will do to you from time to time) and didn't start any games for a few weeks. I dipped enough on the standings that I knew the amount of games I would have to try to play to catch up was more time spending playing Stone Age than is enjoyable for me. So I made the very easy decision to not care about rankings!

My conclusion is that the people who end up at the top of standings for any game really NEED that in their life. If anyone is devoting that much time, it must be super important to them. Same goes for the people trying to manipulate the system to gain higher standings. Maybe it would benefit both of those groups of people to expand their hobbies/where they spend their time, but I've decided not to let their compulsions bother me!

Good changes on the turn based - well done!

Only one thing I don't like, is the player who consume the most time loses, it can be hard to tell weather a player was actually stalling on purpose or just lack of time playing, also time differences could effect this. It can result in one losing a game while being ahead, maybe even if just for thinking move about moves. I would much prefer to see something like turn base games cannot be started in the final few days, thus preventing a big chunk of possible abuse.

This makes me so happy! I mostly play turn-based and was so sad to see that wouldn't be possible in Arena mode. Thanks for all that you're doing to build this community!

One thing I'd like to see: for a win in any 2pl game to guarantee at least one 'shield', regardless of rankings. It's frustrating to perpetually get opponents with rankings low enough that a win earns me nothing while a loss potentially takes all my shields.
