The Alilies were looking set to win the first game until A Finest Hour for the Axis allowed claiming 3 medals on a single card play.

Close match with crazy dice. Game 1, I was very aggressive with Japanese and charged straight up the middle, hoping to win the game before Gonzo could consolidate his forces and make attack difficult. I rolled way too many misses and ended up losing 6-3.
Game 2, I just wanted to win to get a point out of the match. As the game progressed, Gonzo couldn't hit anything and I had a real chance to win the match. Gonzo still should have won the match, except on his last two turns he rolled a zero with a Medics card on a two figure infantry (which I killed later to win the game) and then he rolled four tanks with a Barrage against a single figure infantry on the back line.
The Memoir/BGA dice gods determined the winner of this one...

Extremely close as kevinwkell last attack almost scored a medal to tie.

Game1 was long with the Allies taking the lead by picking off the 3 figure Infantry.
The Axis mobilized the rest of his Infantry to charge the center and capture Linyi to win.

Game 2 was short & exciting, with the Axis charging the center to exchange 3 of 4 Infantry, and capture Linyi for the 4th medal. An Axis 1 figure Infantry used BEL to retreat, and later survived a 1d attack, (which would have also tied the game).

After the Allies retook Linyi, the Axis launched an Armor & Close Assault on the right flank. It took 2 more turns to score the last 2 medals. One Axis Armor was exchanged for an Infantry to tie at 4 medals, after inflicting some damage on Linyi.

Congrats on the win. Very exciting.
However, as far as tournament scoring, if both players tie on medals they each get 2 points. Figures are only used for the overall standings.
