Loading games has been very slow lately, at least in Firefox. I got a lot of karma penalties in the past few days because my game did not load after pressing the start button.

And you've confirmed it's the extension (i.e. you've disabled it and the problem goes away)?

This usually comes from an issue with your internet connection or with bga servers. Nothing related with your browser or an extension...

I think it would be worth reviewing the practice of imposing karma penalties for real time games that are started but do not loaded/began.

Yeah, I don't know, but you're definitely in the wrong section of the forum.
I don't think your post will be read by the BGA staff here.

I'm not sure if this counts as a fix: I'm currently letting the browser handle it. Chrome thinks it makes sense to close the popup, while Firefox doesn't.
Personally, I'd prefer it not to close it...
If I do anything about it, it will be in the form of a new option ;)
Of course, it would be better to be an option, some people like it to auto-hide, some not.

Your wish has been granted!

I found it! It works as intended, excellent! Thank you so much.

Hmmm, do you think we could also control if the new tab opened gets focused or not? Or is that strictly Firefox/browser territory? No big deal again, just wondering...

I found a way to open the URL differently so that the pop-up doesn't close, but in Google Chrome, it works like this: If you give focus to the new tab, the pop-up closes; otherwise, it stays open.
So if I add a new option, it will be for Firefox only, and I’ll need to run some tests to see if it’s actually feasible. But hey, why not… I’ll look into it later.

A new version 1.14.18 has just been published.
It adds a new option in 'Settings > Popups & Notifications' allowing you to choose whether the extension popup closes or remains open when clicking on a table or tournament.
And as usual, it improves dark mode across a few new games (not all of them—there have been so many lately!)
