Board Game Arena

If I am sent a game invite, I receive no notification and no email. The only way I have found to find these invitations, is if the inviter tells me they invited me, then I go to their profile, click on their "games in progress" and then i can see the invite and join it. There has to be a better/easier way. Most of the time i create an invite, it expires before they even realize there was an invite to begin with. Whats am i missing?

edit: I DO have my settings set to send me an invitation email, but I never receive. I usually receive emails when it is my turn, so i know BGA emails are not getting spammed.

I checked, we didn't sent you any invitation during the 4 past days.

The process is simple and intuitive : you invite a player, if he is not online you can choose to send him an email, then he clicks on the link and gets directly on the game.

If it does not happen then please report a bug with details (date, time, table...) so we can check what happened.

It would be much easier if there was a location that showed all pending invites. That way, if I receive many emails, but don;t have time to click on them, i don't have to go back and search through them. Also, the invites should last longer than a few hours.

Well... sorry but the most probable reason is that you have never been invited to a game.

I don't understand the response that if you don't see a big green block, you obviously haven't been invited to play anything. That's nonsense.

From the basic home page, on the far left on the menu is Play Now. Under that you can pick Real Time, Turn Based or Games in Progress. The real time ones are in green boxes, turn based in yellow boxes. The unintuitive part is that ALL invites are shown there, including ones you can never get into. So the totally open ones are here, along with ones that are limited to a group, or to specific players. You have to look - personal invites don't go any place special.

At the top of that you might also see a little box that says "add games." You can choose games you would like to show at the top of this list. You can add any game you happen to know or want to play and those will always be listed first, followed by all the rest. That at least eliminates searching through every game in existence.

I've been invited to games and that is where they go, but that's where all the open invites go as well. So if you don't see green boxes, it is more likely you just aren't looking in the right place.

Emailing someone about an invite is also a strange response. I don't have email addresses for anyone I play online with, except one person. People don't always want to hand out their emails to strangers online - I know I don't. I don't see that as a solution. And I agree that invites should stay longer. Sometimes by time someone knows there's an invite, it's already gone. Totally agree with you.

if you are invited to a game there will be a green (or yellow for turn based) box that appears near the very top of the screen (just until the highest level menu..the play now/news/community/etc... one). You should not have to go through the list of current games to find the ones you were invited to! It will say something like you are expected at table xxx. If you don't see any of these, then you don't have any pending invites. Real time tables only stay open for 20 minutes and turn-based for 1 day, so i the invite happened longer ago than that, then the table will be closed.
