quit game button needs to be qualified with "are you sure"

The "quit game" button needs to be qualified with, another button, "are you sure?" For us using small mobile screens. Cause I accidentally swiped over the quit button and it ended a game I was in, and I did not want this. Sometimes my phone responds to swipes, or even a breath of air, other times I can pound a button and nothing happens.

I'm pretty sure it has a confirmation, and a thing saying you'll lose ELO points, etc., blah, blah. (Though I'm not going to click on it to check on that.) And it's under another menu. Not quite sure how you pulled that off.

There at least 2 ways to get a quit game penalty by leaving a game unintentionally without having to confirm.

2 ways I already got quit-penalties for without a warning / confirmation:

- After clicking accept game start - click the quit-game-button while other players have not yet accepted game start. If you're lagging you will get a quit penalty even though you didn't know the game had already started. No warning / confirmation. (happened here: Hanabi #20610433)

- I started a game and still had another tab open. While someone was thinking i changed to the other BGA-tab. There was still a game invitation (green line on top of the screen) open. I clicked Refuse because I was already playing a game. That kicked me out of my running game without warning /confirmation but with penalty (happened today in this game: Hanabi #21564624)

Oh and i forgot this 3rd way:

I once got a quit penalty when I clicked quit after I had skipped turn of someone who was out of time (should be allowed to quit then with the out-of-time-player getting the quit penalty)

Reported several times

(all quite some time ago so maybe that's been fixed already - but bug status is still "open")

Those are specific bugs. OP was talking about having the "feature" of confirming quitting, which without bugs, does already exist. It doesn't explain how someone accidentally "swiped" over the quit button.

I've not seen the bugs you're talking about so can't confirm them. If they're old and no one else has reported that, they may have been one-time quirks. If you haven't already, I'd suggest doing a thorough search for those to see if you can thumb any other reports that are more recent or have more thumbs.

the exact details of what happened with my quit, was I was trying to find out how the wharf works in Puerto Rico, and I was trying to pull up anything for information. And to my sadness, there is nothing written in PR instructions how to initiate the wharf feature. At one point the screen with the quit game option came up (this is all on my samsung s4 phone), and all one has to do is breath on my screen and and action happens, and other times, I have to press the display a few times to get a response. so I swiped past this huge quit game button, meaning to just scroll the screen, and it activated the quit button, and it quickly quit me out of the game, there was NO qualifying button,"are you sure you want to quit" trust me on this, or you can try it for yourself, but I don't think you want to as you will be given a statistic that you quit so many % of games and be frozen out of joining new games. I was able to select, "get back into the game" button, but it was'nt the same, I lost several turns, didn't get to use the wharf, even after I learned how it works after posting about that issue. The remainder of the game I was considered as if I was still quit out of it, just being allowed to take turns but not really a valid player. May as well have just kept me out of the game. Every game that I tried joining after that, I would get a refusal,"you have quit >10% of games" until finally I joined a group that had a >20% quit average, and I got in that game table! I have only played 4 PR games, with 3 other PR games ongoing now. This by the way, is current events, not something that has happened years ago.
