Hey do plantations have to be occupied in order to get credit for a plantation if one has an occupied residence hall? I have 12 plantations, but not all have colonists. Just trying to decide on buying a residence hall... thanks (Puerto rico)

No, Residence Hall get 4-7 points per 9-12 plantations. For get the bonus you need a colonist in this building, but not colonists in all plantations.
