Someone got mad and thumbs downed me

I beat some guy in a 1v1 game of stone age and he thumbs downed me because I took 53 rating points from him. I didn't even say anything and I played quite fast. Is there anything I can do about this? It feels unfair because I just joined so now my thumbs down to thumbs up ratio is poor.

unfortunately this happends often, like in saboteur some player put red thumb every time you win and they loose, I got almost all my red thumbs in a few play of saboteur !
not sure you can do anything, exepte having a discussion with this person maybe ? (as player, you can changer your mind and "change" the red thumb")
maybe this player did'nt like the fact your did'nt say hello/thanks for the game ?

just play a few more games. for any games that you set up, you are not blocked by any restrictions.

i don't worry about red thumbs on new players .. only once someone has a few hundred games played.

certain games tend to attract alot of red thumbs ... usually ones where different playing styles clash and cause confusion - saboteur, perudo, hanabi are particularly notorious, especially since they are a bit longer to play. hearts and coloretto tend to be shorter games, but can also still attract a few red thumbs.

It irritated me ALOT when I got my first Red Thumb. I felt that it was for no good reason.
But then I learned to not take it personally some players are just that way.
Now I have 5 Red Thumbs, but 630 Green Thumbs and I accept that someone is going to give me Red Thumb #6.

I quickly noticed that nearly everyone here with enough games played has at least a few red thumbs. I figured it was likely that many of these were because of sore losers. It's ridiculous to think that grown adults (which I assume most players here are) still behave in such a childish manner. I've had a couple of players I didn't like playing with for various reasons, but they would have to do something explicitly inappropriate or unfair for me to give a red thumb. I haven't had to do so yet.

I can understand the original poster's frustration with getting a red thumb so early on, though. Just keep playing, as others have suggested. I was unfairly given a "quit game" penalty because of an apparent bug as soon as I joined a game, and suffered a steep rating drop as well as a mark on my reputation. That's just how it is, though. Don't put too much into an occasional red thumb--I'll try to remember my own advice if I get one.

Red thumbs don't mean anything, so don't worry about. In general though, I would imagine you are less likely to receive them if you at least greet your opponent(s) and say gg to them at the end. I am not saying total silence is wrong or red thumbing a silent opponent is right, but just my 2 cents.

I have 141 reds, and around 80-90 was for Saboteur games... is a little unfair, but I accept it because it isn't more than 10% of my green thumbs.

Some players are so jealous and don't admit that you win and they not, it's just about bad players (about politeness, not experience)

Most of my games start with a "Luck and fun" and end with a "GG" from me...and nothing from anyone in return...except for the occasional red thumb
