i wasn't the biggest fan of the woodgrain, but it was stupendously awesome compared to the 'new' colour scheme.

EDIT: thanks for at least tweaking the background to the light blue from the blazing white. made a HUGE diff in cutting down eyestrain.

I agree. The new color scheme is terrible.

Wood panelling: totally decent and thematically appropriate background.
White space: disconcerting to look at and INJURIOUS.

Please revert the latest style change. The new logo implementation a number of weeks ago was goofy,
but innocuous. This latest change, however is intolerable an makes it unpleasant to use the site.

As explained by senatorhug, we updated it to make it less bright.

This is quite standard to have a white background under main content on a web service. If you look at Facebook, Google, Gmail and Twitter : they all have a white background, because this increase readability a lot (and by the way, this forum has a white background on content since the beginning).

Please note that this is still a "work in progress". The overall idea is already there, but if there are problems with specific pages or elements please report so we can fix them.

I feel the same.
I want color setting option.
Actually many web sites use white background and black font, but I don't think it is kind for human's eye.

Could we just maybe get a switch between two schemes, one being a bright one, and one being a dark (and I mean really dark)? It would be especially good while playing at night/in dark environment.

Well ... sorry but it doesn't help much. At one point you will switch to Google, Facebook, or 90% of other websites and you'll get the same issue. The good solution here is to change your screen brightness and not the websites brightness ...

Yes, it's quite standard and this forum - just being black on white(as a lot of sites are) - never was a problem to my eyes.
But the different blue's and black on white for example in my gamelist make my eyes have to adapt a lot and makes it very unpleasant and make my eyes getting quickly tired.
I think it's a big difference when a site like google or this forum which is only used to read have some brightness or the many different pages on this site where you carefully have to look at specific area's to use the site well and play the games.

I really hope I can keep on playing a lot here on this very great site without getting tired eyes.
