Nile are we playing it right?

The rulebook says we can play any number of crops to any existing fields we have but im sure it lets only add to 2 on here?
if you are ONLY playing to existing fields there is no limit.
if you are trying to plant any NEW field .. you are restricted to max 2 total regardless of crop type.
