Board Game Arena

Last month, we introduced Board Game Arena translation module. Thanks to this module, and especially to YOU, Board Game Arena is now available in German.

Today, two new languages are open for translation: Spanish and Italian !

To thank players for their contribution, we are happy to offer BGA club membership to players that will translate the website (1 month / 100 translated strings validated).

As soon as a significant part of the main website will be translated, we will open the service in these two languages.

A big "thank you" in advance to all players that will contribute to make this service available to a larger audience !

PS: please remember that only native speakers of a given language should translate in this language. For games translations, if an official version of the game exists in the target language, you should know the game and preferably have a box and rulebook to check for consistency.

I'm a native Spanish speaker and I have a solid knowledge of English, so I think I could translate games from your page such as Puerto Rico, Gosu, Race for the Galaxy, Can't Stop, etc. I have played those games a lot here OR I own a copy of the games, so I have the rules at home.

Just tell me if I can be of any help. I've got quite a lot of free time in the afternoons and some days in the mornings (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

I don't know what I have to do in the page you lead me to. It's only the start page where you choose the language you want -and for the moment there's only German, French and English...

Am I missing something?

It is strange, after a short time you should be redirected from the homepage to the translation module.
Are you sure that you are properly connected to BGA?
And if the redirection doesn't work, you should be able to access to the translation module by clicking "Community" and then "Help us translate Board Game Arena!" after login to the website.

I have noticed your traslation request, and did my best with Spanish dominion, but can not continue. I need to sleep!!!
I'm excited to take part of it.

There is no technical limitation to the number of languages that can be handled by the system: each language (with volunteer translators) will be made available one by one in the following months.

When starts the verifying stage?

Hello all,

I have been reviewing the translation of Race for the Galaxy into Spanish and I have seen lots of issues of consistency. The problem is that the various options are mostly valid, but it depends on the translator to choose one wording or another and there is no objective reason for picking one over the other, since it is a matter of taste. RFTG not being published in Spanish is the main reason, IMHO, of these inconsistencies.

I don't really want to fight over one month or two of membership, but I would like to see a good proper translation, so if there is anyone interested in coordinating efforts, please contact me via private message here and we will agree on the project terms.
