Too often I accidentally click 'replay game from this point' and it takes me out of the game and wastes everyone's time.

This feature is rather useless at best. I never want to replay part of the game while the game is still playing. I am begging you, please disable this feature so that accidental clicks will no longer spoil the game play.

This feature is actually needed for turn-based games (but often faster to look at the game log) and for some games (e.g. Hanabi). In most realtime games there is no need to watch replay until the game end.

Perhaps (idk) it could be a feature that is toggled on and off in the set up menu? It is useful in Hanabi, but if we think about irl, we can't look back over moves people have made but rely on our memory. Indeed, in card games often all but the last trick is visible (I mentioned this on a previous thread for belote). I think that we should have an option to not allow such an "aide-memoire" during real-time game play.

I think you mentionned "memory" for Hanabi. I agree this replay feature is useful for turn-based. But IRL, no replay is allowed but no clues that stay on cards all turns too. So I can suggest to have an "harder" level in Hanabi. Clue stays only on cards during the turn it has been given.

They have the replay on live games? Seriously?

We need to have it on turn-based because we aren't there to see what happened. And no it's not always easier to read the log. For one thing, some games don't allow you to go back further than one page on the log even when a lot of moves happened and are off the screen. For another, in some games there's more you need to see, like visuals on certain moves. So this can't be removed on the turn-based games.

I'm just surprised it exists on live games. (But I also don't get why anyone would use it, and not sure how you would accidentally do that since you have no reason to touch that whole area of the screen.)

Toggle off and on OK, but please do not disable it plainly from live games. It’s too useful for Hanabi and makes the game full.
