Running past time limit

While playing a turn-based tournament, I logged in today and found that in my turn-based game (1 day/turn) I was nearly 4 hours past the deadline (and picked up the penalty). I don't understand how this happened. Previously, I had played in the game approximately 14 hours prior to this login, so I thought I was actually getting in early. How do the timers work for the turn-based games? Very frustrating.

Hi,

Without a table #id this is hard to tell, but my guess is this is not a "1 turn / day" game. For tournaments you have a fixed amount of time to play the game, and no extra time.

Seems like it is table https://de.boardgamearena.com#!table?table=25420973
For this tournament you have 2.5 days on total, for all moves of the game. Both players together have 5 days. After this time the match will be abandoned.

Before joining a tournament always check available time. Many tournament have not enough time, then you should no join them.

Thank you for the response - this makes good sense - now I understand my error. :|
