I would like to join or start Up a game in real-time, but since I don't know hos Long the games usually last I'm hesitant to join. I'd like to start with some och THE quicker games, so which ones should I choose?

Can't stop : quick, fun, easy

Can't Stop is a good one!

a lot of classics on here you likely have played before that are quick...
yahtzee, backgammon, reversi to name a few.

other easier games that are more like modern board games are jaipur, tokaido and takenoko. Love letter and lost cities are also good, but you need a premium account to start those games...you can still join them if someone else starts a table.

Can't Stop, definitely.
Checkers and Kala, maybe.
Senet is also fairly quick.

Then, yes, the others suggested (but keep an eye on Takenoko -- it can take a little longer than the others).

Can't Stop is quite boring. I think better to try popular games like Carcassone, Race for the Galaxy, Stone Age. You find players easy. Also you may ask help in general chat to someone help you.

Yes, I agree on Can't stop. I tried it and unfortunately didn't find it very interesting I am currently playing Stone Age, but turned-based, since I thought it'll take too long to play in real-time. I've tried Targi in real-time, once when I knew that I had plenty of time and I enjoyed it a lot. Carcassonne, Jaipur and Love Letter are games I have att home and play with the family

There are lots och games I'd like to try, like Race for the galaxy, Tokaido and maybe Puerto Rico, but I'm guessing they'll take a while to play. Lost cities doesn't really appeal to me that much, but I've understood that it's very popular, so maybe I should give it a try.

Race for the Galaxy takes about 5-7 minutes for experienced players and up to 15 minutes for newcomers.
Stone Age takes about 12 minutes per player per game for experienced players.
Most of the games take less time when play online. Almost every game on BGA can be played within an hour. Most of them within 40 minutes.
My rule for non-abstract games, multiply estimated duration of the game by 2 for your first game.

Race for the Galaxy is fast but very hard to master.
If you play Jaipur, try Sobek.
Kahuna is fast and not so easy.
Seasons is also very popular and quite interesting, even in Magician mode.
There are many other fast games but you might find them so-so.

Tokaido only take half an hour or so, unless there are a ton of players.

Takenoko is a relatively quick game too that I'd recommend.

If you sort the games by duration you should get a fair idea of play length.

Dragon Line is a good, quick, two-player game.
