This message has been on every single page i use, and it is super annoying.

Good! I am a loyal player. For that i get a giant yellow message that make is it hard to play games(on mobile is worse... It even shows on top of the chat rooms when you pup them up)

Maybe 1 month of free membership would have been welcomed..


Seriously, this is a bad way to act toward active and loyal players...

Next time you're in the local board game shop, ask what board games they have for free, after that go next door and ask your local game retailer what software they have for free.

I agree this is not great. We are going to make an announcement this month to change it to something else.

Unless you have already done so, you probably qualify for free membership time. Goto your profile page and you should see an attribute called My Gift Points: some number. Click on the link next to it that says "contribute to BGA and get a club membership". At the bottom of the page that comes up should be a section labelled use my gift points. It allows you to use 100 of the gift points you have collected to be a member for a month. It also explains how to get more points by doing translations, each time new players green thumb you after playing their first game with you, and each time you get your own first victory in a new game. If you have already used these points in the past, sorry for the wasted suggestion.

I have allot of gift points thanks to all the games and translations i have done ( And i plan on doing much more some day)

BUT i am collecting them to get 1 year of free membership and not just 1 month.

I don't play board games because i don't know thousands of different people and i get all my software for free from family friends and work. I don't have money to buy anything so i get everything free from wherever i can.

BTW the problem with the message is that it NEVER goes away. It simply stays all the time. Every day, even now.

Two things
1) sour said above it won't be so bad in future for a non club member with so much played. So why not upgrade with gift points and when it drops that message will stay gone?
2) make it a challenge! Start now and challenge yourself to still keep up the gift points fast enough to extend for a year or even try to make it a perpetually free thing.

You do still gain gift points and can still extend timer while a member. I have a membership and have been collecting gift points still and with none saved up prior to my membership have been on pace to extend 6 months extra at end of the year. See if you can do better. I intend to keep extending one month at a time as I go so if I ever get too busy or lose interest I can save the remaining gift points for when I come back from any possible breaks.
