Race for the Galaxy: Which cards use "ante" and what does it mean?

I'm almost done translating Race for the Galaxy to Swedish, the only strings I have left are strings mentioning "ante", "Sas" (which I've made another thread about) and draft/drafting (for which I'm currently searching for an appropriate translation).

I'm not sure what ante means in these contexts and I don't remember seeing it in the game. If I knew which cards they referred to I could look up an appropriate translation. Could someone please explain? All the translations I can find only explains the term in poker.

There's also another single string which I don't understand. I've yet to play xeno invasion but I have read the rules, but I'm still not sure to what "Empire defeats number" is refering. Is it for the score table after the game, listing the number of times the empire was defeated by the xeno? (if so, shouldn't it be "Number of empire defeats"?)

They are all from expansion packs.

'ante' is used in new version of Gambling World from Rebel vs. Imperium.
New Gambling World gambles with a card in your hand and you lose the wager if you lose the gamble so it's referred as 'ante'.

'Sas' is from French Alien Artifacts rulebook, according to this thread from BGG.

Yes, it's essentially same as airlock.

Draft rule is introduced from Gathering Storm. It is a well-known mechanic among card games.

Finally, in Invasion mode of Xeno Invasion, if all players lose against xeno in a single round, 'Empire defeats number' increases by 1.
If this happens twice (when this number reaches 2) the game ends immediately.
In this case, 5 VPs for highest military vs. xeno / most war contribution are not awarded.

Thank you! That clears up pretty much everything.

I don't know the game, but if I'm interpreting you correctly, wouldn't it make more sense if it were "Empire defeats: number" i.e. adding the colon? That way when someone is trying to translate it, that might be a bit more obvious. I'm assuming this is in the game log.
