What does this statistic mean?

edit: Since this question has been asked a few times, I added an entry in the English FAQ. There wasn't really an appropriate heading, but I added it under "Meeting players and starting games", thinking that users generally see this statistic when they join tables (although it's also on the profile page). Please edit as appropriate.
