Around the clock : Karma, skip turn, concede, abandon, etc.

Hello,

First I would like to ask some difference in result Karma for time exceeded.
For exemple player A exceed few seconds on a turn during the game but then play faster and his/her clock is positive at the end ; player B use to exceed at each move and then finish with a -10 minutes clock ; after the game result, they will have both the same karma evaluation and malus for exceeded time, that's not fair.

Secondly I would like to be able to skip an opponent turn in case of time limit and not absolutely remove him/her from the game.
When the clock is ended and time comes negative, there is the possibility to skip the players' turn but this will also skip all of his/her next turns.
It could be nice to ask only one turn passing and apply it if majority of players ask for it.
If the player have problem connexion or anything else, he/she will be able to continue the game after all but with the disadvantage of a skipped turn.
Perhaps, after 3 skipped turns in a game, this player won't be allowed to come back, like it does now.

Thirdly would it be possible to have a concede button to ask other players your departure if you have must leave for some reason explained in chat. So if a majority agree there is no need to wait the extra time reached.
It would be also nice to have a button to ask abandon game at other players. If a majority agree, the game is cancelled.

Sorry if I'm wrong on something, I've read FAQ for similar questions first but didn't find this...

Thanks BGA

Why isn't it fair?
Both players went over time, both players decided to allow the other to continue playing despite knowing the other goes over time. Or are you suggesting that someone can get several out-of-time penalties on every game they play?

There is this functionality already. However, it requires all active players to agree, not just a simple majority.
If it was just simple majority, this could easily be abused for ELO farming. Accomplices A and B set up a table, and wait for unrelated player C to join. At the last move, if C is not in last place, A and B abandon the game, losing no ELO. If C is losing, they both gain ELO for having won against them.

Just kick them if you want them to have greater penalties. It is in the players hands, there are no need for automatic cumulative penalties.

Kicked players can return if they wish, though pointless that may be.

I don't mean to be harder with player B (it could be kicked by others yet) but indulgent with player A that didn't play more than oher players in accumulative fact. I don't know how many karma points you lose by taking more time but it could be proportional.

Okay I looked for this but didn't know. Where the option is ?

Allright I didn't know that because it is written that when you kick someone all his/her next turns will be skipped.

Being kicked reduces your karma by 10. Running out of time only negates the +1 karma you would otherwise have gotten on a game without exceeding your time.

Gear button on the top right. >Propose to Abandon<

So it is in players hands to kick someone to make him losing more karma or to nothing...
About the other part of your answer, I understand that you don't loose lot of karma this way but time exceeded token appears on you even if you have positive time counter at the end.

Okay never see it before, I'll check that ><

Thanks for answers

Yes, it's in the players' hands to skip someone's turn. Or I should say, it's in one player's hands, because it only takes one player to do it, and everyone else is pretty much stuck with it whether that's what they wanted or not. However, a given player can also abandon a game (not a group abandon), and then you don't have to skip their turn cause they left. Same penalty either way.

I believe the time exceed token does appear if you went over your total time at any point in the game, so you end with that penalty. I'm about 98% sure on that. After all, the person took enough time somewhere in the game to lose not only their turn time, but their extra think time as well. It doesn't really make a difference if they did it early or at the end. As a note, you don't lose any karma at all for this. You just don't gain your point. So it's more of a "not-gain" than a "loss."
