Saboteur End Round button

Sometimes when Saboteurs have obviously won, and there is nothing to do, we have to waste another 5 minutes discarding cards. There could be a button that all goldiggers press saying that they acknowledge they lost the round and just skip the whole "discard for 5 minutes" thing. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Another player thought that once the deck has run out (no new cards entering player's hands) if all players discard for a cycle that it would automatically end the round. I don't know if that rule exists in the real game, it certainly didn't end when that happened in a round I was playing. - Will

That rule does not exist in the real game. A loyal dwarf might be holding onto a good card, waiting to see if someone else plays something. It's possible for everyone to discard for a round and then play to get going again (not common, but possible).

An explicit End Round button is a great idea. In our face-to-face games, we often end the game early if it's obvious that we've lost.

I second the call for an 'End Round' Button. I also called for this in my post above (sorry for the repeat, didn't see this when I made my initial post). I think it could be good to speed things up a bit.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi,

I'm not a big fan of the 'end round button' idea, because:
- I feel there may be some cases where the game would be ended too soon, while there is still a winning combo for diggers
- it would need to establish unanimous consent among the diggers (messy ergonomics)
- a player has the right to finish digging all his tunnels and dead ends anywhere useless if he finds it artistic ;)

But you have a point, it would be good to have a way to speed up the discarding at the end of the round.

In the next release, I will add an option to discard all your cards - instead of selecting one - when the deck has been emptied (same as putting your cards on the table and saying 'I'm done' with the physical game).
So if everyone agrees that the round is over, one click from each player and you'll get to the next round.
