Can someone explain me why someone conceeds in his final turn?

Hi,
I'm just curious:
Can someone explain me, why a player conceeds in his last turn? Does he loose less ELO? Otherwise it doesn't make any sense to me, but I have experienced it twice now.
I've asked themselves, but they didn't bother to answer...

You don't lose more or less ELO if you concede.
Some are just impatient, it does affect the final stats for those who care about that, some do it out of reflex once they know they have lost, and some may do it out of spite.
The possible reasons are many, but it hardly matters if they do concede or not.

In Go (especially real life) it is kinda rude to not resign when you are far behind so some people might resign at the last moment to (even if late) at least show they realized they're losing. So it might be be an act of acknowledging their loss and showing you, you are the well-deserved winner of the game.

Yes, I know about this agreement in Chess and Go, especially to avoid boring, useless end-games.
But in games like Jaipur and RFTG? And in your last turn? I can't understand this as an act of courtesy, it seems more to me like an angry kid stomping out of the room.
It doesen't matter, I was only curious, if there could be a tactical reason...

I agree that it's more of an angry kid stomping out of the room / impatient player wanting to move on to the next game type situation. If someone conceded as a show of respect, I'd expect a "well played!" type comment, or at least a "gg" from them at the end. The fact that they leave without saying a word makes it appear pretty much the opposite of respectful to me.

I agree with Otithes. There's a difference between people who say "gg" or "well played" and concede because they've acknowledged that they were going to lose and people who concede abruptly and leave the table without saying anything. The latter is what happens on BGA, and it is like an immature child storming off because they couldn't handle being defeated.
I'm not a fan of people who concede, and I make a note to not play with them again. I was particularly frustrated when a player conceded during a Seasons games. I don't play with the promo cards often, and I'm still learning how to use them effectively. This was my chance to learn how to use them right (especially since you get different cards for each Seasons game, and I never knew when I would get a chance to use these promo card combinations). Instead of letting the game play out, my opponent conceded and abruptly left the table without saying anything. There's games that I've lost by over 200 points, and I still stuck around to the end.
It's different if there's an emergency or something that seriously prevents a player from finishing a game. But conceding when there's only a few turns left seems immature and silly.

Hijacking the thread a bit, be careful to distinguish between conceding on the last move and conceding in general. Conceding on the last move when the game was already decided is generally regarded as childish behavior. Conceding in the middle of the game was a highly requested feature to allow players not to waste each other's time when the outcome is certain. While it would have been beneficial for Shaq Jenkins to be able to learn how to use the promo cards, I can imagine the player in the 200+ point differential game wondering why they were still playing. This tends to be personal preference.

This seems logical to me.
Thing is, people have so many different opinions on this, and quite opposite opinions, that I feel there's no right and wrong, only your personal opinion. (Of course, saying something would be nice.) On the last turn does seem a bit weird, cause why not just take that last turn? But it's really hard telling. I don't even think you can assume they're being childish, because people often don't talk when playing online and someone could feel shy or not know if you speak their language, etc., especially if you haven't spoken the entire game. But, it's very possible they also just can't handle seeing that final loss, even when they're losing anyway.

It is probably best just not to care too much. If someone concedes, they concede and you win. There is generally no point in overthinking it.
