Not getting any gift points

Hi guys, in the last month I've started again playing on this awesome platform, I had some gift points I earned some time ago so I got my free month membership just for the sake of trying that out.
I got those points mostly by translating to my native language: italian. I did that because I wanted to give something back to the developers for the hours of fun thay gave me and also because every time is a pain to see those automatic translation
But I got a question: in the last weeks I've translated the news feeds but I don't think I got any gift points. Is this because I'm a member now or just because validated news translations don't give points?
Not that this will stop me, I will continue to translate anyway, now I'm gettin the kick out of it
