What's the "character roster" for a 6 player game ?

I sat for what I assumed was an 8 player game here on BGA and just found out it was a 6 player game.

An 8 player game has a Princess, Wanderer, Priestess, Minister and 4 Guards. What's the roster of a 6 player game composed of ?

For 5-7 player games, deal character cards per player as usual, then put unused cards on the center area.
Those cards become NPCs. Players can interact with NPCs normally, but NPCs themselves do nothing.
So the roster is same. For 5 player games, remove 1 guard or priestess randomly.
