Automatic post to game forum when announcement made to game player group.

There have been a couple of cases recently (that I'm aware of, at least) where a change has been made to a game (normally bug fixes). This change is announced to the [[game]] players group. Then, within a couple of days, there's a post in the [[game]]-specific forum of someone asking what happened.
Should posts to the [[game]]players group automatically generate a new thread in the game specific forum? Or should it be limited to posts from developers?
Or, should it just stay the way it is, and hopefully if someone makes an important announcement they remember to announce it in the forums as well?
---
I haven't created a suggestion in the system yet, I want some discussion before it gets ready to be voted on.

Yes, I noticed that too. It would have been better indeed if there had also been a post in the forum on those changes.
Not sure if it should be automatic, but at least for changes to games played a lot and online for a long time on BGA, we should remember to use all communication channels

I rarely if ever use the main page feed where the "<game> players" group message would have reached me. Could such messages perhaps be sent as notification (if you joined a table for that game in the past X days, or want to play it now)?

Or maybe those group posts could show up in a more obvious place? like summaries on the 'games you are currently playing page'? or maybe show the latest post under each game alongside the 'how to play' and rankings tabs?
I don't know how typical we are, but, like eoc, I never visit that main page. I always go directly to boardgamearena.com/play so I don't see anything posted in my groups.

Well.... tell me if I'm crazy. (Or maybe don't.

) But didn't we used to get a notification at the top of the screen whenever messages were posted in a group we are in? Or is that only for non-game groups? Seems to me I would always see new messages in my other groups, the Game Tutors, etc. Maybe I'm missing those now and don't even know it.
I don't think just doing a forum post is going to be a solution, simply because only a small percent of people read the forums. Not that it's hurting anything to do that of course. I also don't know that being notified should be based on how long it's been since we've played something. Even if I haven't played for a while, I'd still want to know about something going on - or least see it and decide for myself if i care.
Do things like this happen often enough that a notification up top would get annoying to people who know a lot of games?

Wait, I'm crazy. Those would show up in the Notification area by our player name, i.e. where game-end notices are. Jeez, been a long time since anyone posted anything in one of my groups cause I forgot about that. Would that be appropriate? You think people actually look at that when it lights up, or just ignore it? (I look at it.)

Wow, is there "a notification at the top of the screen whenever messages were posted in a group we are in?" Never experienced. I was kinda shocked of Yahtzee changes (well, I near always read forums), which were claimed to be announcement to Yahtzee group.
