A lot of players have needlessly abandon games whenever things go badly while playing Hanabi in order to artificially inflate their ratings. I feel it's against to spirit of the game to do so

I agree. a collective abandon of a co-operative game should count as a loss. It should not count as a 'quit', but it should essentially be logged as a forfeit for everyone involved.

Until, of course, someone has a life interaction reason to leave the table, and isn't abandoning so save status.
This is a tricky situation, and it will be difficult to program in "is this group abandoning the game because they are doing poorly" vs "is this group abandoning the game because someone needs to leave."

Maybe a % of game complete rule? Like in Hanabi, if they abandon after, say, 50% of the game is complete, that counts as a loss?
Although, that might encourage people to quit at 49% if it doesn't look like it's going well... It's a pickle.
