"Quit Game" Option

When playing certain higher level players, they "quit" the game if they are about to lose as to not lose more than 30 points.

I think this option should be removed altogether and any quitting should result in forfeiture of points to the player who earned them.

Edit: Alternatively, I think quitting should deduct the maximum amount of points from the quitter (60) rather than the base amount (30). This would deter higher level players from doing so and depriving deserving players of points because they would lose more by quitting.

Let me know if anything will be done.

Thanks,

Latex

I'm pretty sure this happened to me just now. A measure along these lines seems like a good idea.

I agree to -60 points deducted for player quitting the game. This one is a nice suggestion!

I totally disagree (and this has been discussed a lot) to "the point will be given to the winner" if one player resigns, since this create a possibility of cheating, such as play again yourself, let one of them getting out repeatedly, 10 times and you'll get 600 points! That's lots of points...

It is a game, dudes. It is possible that someone have to quit for some problems, i.e. emergencies and so on. High level players also consider with great attenction the number of quits of the opponents.
Consider also that what is the advantage of this behaviour? instead of losing 40-45 points the player mark himself as a quitter and lose 30 points. Not so great..

I'm sure it will be happening, but it is a minor problem.

Agree with idum. If someone need to go, it's just an option, not a panelty.

this is concerning about people who've done it like 50 times inside a week, it's definitely an issue and shouldn't be acceptable behavior.

I can't agree that this is "just an option, not a penalty" because "concede" is an option. Concede serves the same function but gives credit where credit is due. Also, in the event of a real emergency that doesn't take place when losing by 50 with 2 minutes remaining in a game, a lot of players will accept "abandon," thereby ending the game with no points changing hands.

@zfm - I do not think that one player should lose 60 and the other should gain 60 haha. I said the -60 as an alternative to one player gaining anything. I simply think the quitter should lose the 60 and the other player would not gain. The fact that the quitter would lose 60 would deter that player from quitting at all, since s/he would definitely lose more points than if s/he had just lost the game. (so I think we are in total agreement here) =P
