PLAYER REPUTATION

So, you are the friendliest player in the world.

 You play well,
 people like your jokes,
 everyone wants to be your friend.

You are getting loads of positive response. AND THEN BLAM - you get a negative thumbs down. You think, WHAT??? What could I have possibly done?? And then you realize it was one angry person who just felt like scarring your reputation. You will probably never hear from them again... but others will see your negative reputation numbers. It doesn't have to happen often to make you feel a little frustrated.

 Why not create a policy to remove JUST ONE negative reputation for every ONE HUNDRED positive responses. It sort of makes sense to do something positive if a few people are creating the illusion over time that good members don't deserve to be played with but 99.9999% of the people think you are great. And it would create an even greater reason to be kind and considerate - to remove those ugly little "down thumbs".

?? How about it??

I totally agree on this...
Plus... people with more thumbs down are usually the ones thumbing down everyone else.
So if you have 100 thumbs up, you should get 1 thumb down erased..
And if you have a lot of thumbs down, you shouldn't be allowed to vote on other's behaviour!

Thumbs up for nice players around BGA!!!

I don't get your point.
Maybe I'm just too new to notice,
but doesn't having 100 TU vs like 5 TD still makes you an "Angel"? So why should it bother you having a few TDs?

It's not a big deal, since you're cool about your reputation when you have a lot of TU.
But it's annoying to get TD without a particular reason, so that's why i get poopoom's point.

I second this, however I think 1 per 100 thumbs up is really non-significant.
I have like 300 thumbs up and 65 thumbs down. This is annoying, since sometimes people set 90% limit of thumbs up on games. Especially for saboteur (where games are hard to get because you basically need 7 players to play) this is annoying. And OK, I have been annoying sometimes, but I feel I got a bit more of these thumbs down then I actually deserved.

Can't we think of another system? I have some suggestions:
1) Let the evaluations decay over time. Let's say they are only active for 90 days or so?
2) Remove the evaluations of inactive accounts.
3) Think of some system that limits the amount of thumbs down you can give. I don't know for sure, but I imagine there are some players that give a LOT of thumbs down.
4) I could also imagine a system where you can give a thumbs up for every game you played, I think that would give a more accurate overview of a player's average likedness. (I mean, everyone has a bad day sometimes...)

Hi to everyone on the forums, hasn't been there yet since now.
Thinking about the problem I came up with the idea that if someone gives more TDs than TUs over time, they should not be allowed to evaluate other people. I mean, the community is mostly friendly there and if someone just spams TDs, it is very likely that person is not being honest and is just some rage kid.

Hi all,
i agree but also should be exist a way to notice who are really a bad behavior.Because there are people who behave inappropriate and the have good reputation.i dont think that this inappropriate bahavior is a result of only a bad day.

Has any of the administrators said something about this??
Or are we just complaining for no reason? ;)

I disagree with removal 1 TD for every 100 TU, but I strongly agree with Martao's idea about decaying of the thumbs...

Let's say there's a player who just wants to wreck everyone's reputation. He doesn't need to play at all, he just goes to everyone's page and gives a thumb down, then never come back to BGA. This TD will be there forever, and this is bad.

My suggestion is, removing the TD/TU that has been more than 90 days or 45 days after the giver inactive in the site, whichever is later. In this case, if I give a TU to someone, and since I'll always be around, that TU will still be exist. How about that?
