I have got a question, and i don't find the answer...
When i play, more and more people concede me victory before the end of the game (most of the time at the really end of the game, when they are defeated anyway). I don't like it, i feel as ifmy victory is not complete, even if it should the contrary, . I never do it, whatever who is my opponent or the way the game goes on.
But why so many people do that? does it change something with the ELO ranking? if it's the case, it would be really... unfair?

If the ELO gets calculated then I think it never takes into account the complete% so you'll always get everything that is owed to you.

Conceding close to the end sometimes feels the right thing to do, and sometimes not. Yes it's nice to complete a game to the end in many situations, but in quoridor for example a lot of the time conceding feels like the right thing to do.

In chess, it is generally considered rude in most positions to not concede when you're losing. The reason for that is, in many scenarios, you are winning, but you'll have to play about 20 turns to promote your pawns and win the game. and the sequence is basically so simple so there is no room for error.

(So, if you take this specific case, and generalize it to some similar games, it should hold)

Another argument in favor of conceding is, the other player knows they are losing, so, they're feel forced to play on, even though have no chance.

Also, conceding can save time as well.

(Those are some arguments for conceding, it is not necessarily a bad thing)
(There are also some arguments against conceding)

Though, some people concede because:

1. They just want this lost game over with, and go do something else, maybe play this game more to get better etc...
2. You might not finish them in one move, and you might just show off your combos and "how much you're ahead". And that might annoy the losing player a little.
