I was so happy when i got the noticifation about werewolves and that the BETA was available to play! Now i am wondering why some players can play the game while others can't even find the game. Like if i click on a friend playing the game it says error. He even tried to invite me, but i couldn't accept. Can someone tell me more about this?

Cause i really want to try it!

They only opened it for joining for short periods. It is closed right now.

Ok i get that it is closed right now, but what about the fact that the game wasn't even open for everyone? Cause they tried to add me to an already excisting game, but it gave errors and said the game didn't excist for me. Like i saw ppl in my friendslist waiting or playing the game.

I couldn't say, I don't know. But I would guess they closed it then or they just had enough testers at that point.

Well i don't think it would be that, cause they added me to the table, wich didn't work cause i couldn't accept a for me not excisting game. But that same game started anyway after that. So well...
i wasn't the only one for who it didn't work btw.

Here is how betatesting works on here: the game is visible (and exist) only to the specific group of developers/designers/other players - all those must be added to the group before they can play and actually see the game. So my guess is you was invited to the table, but not invited to the test group, which is necessary.

Hi,
We are testing it, really. So we are opening the game so that few tables can be created, and after that we are closing it again.
We are forced to do this because this is really hard to test this adaptation without the BGA community: this is a communication game with a lot of players around the table, so this is not something we can easily simulate without you.
Please be patient: the game is going to be available when all the issues will be fixed (but not earlier).

I assume this is Werewolves of Miller's Hollow that we're talking about.
I happened to glance at the results for Werewolves game #52647941, which was concluded earlier today, and saw a glaring discrepancy in the way the changes in ELO rating were distributed to the 9 winners of the game. Most of the winners gained points but the top-rated winner PGpirata lost 27 ELO points while, for instance, winner Architorture gained 46.
What PGpirata's ELO adjustment should have been was to add the 8.78 gained against Werewolf team member cream to the 6.67 and 8.71 gained against fellow wolves Cajunworld and shayan_1047 for a total gain of 24.16 ELO points. Instead, the software lumps in a loss of 51.80 points that he "lost to his 8 teammates because he 'tied with them'

for a net loss of 27 points.
How hard can it be to direct the software to ignore ELO considerations against fellow team members and only compute ELO changes against the players from the opposing team ?
Seriously, how hard is that ?
And then take the code that was hammered out to ensure that ELO calculations in a team game like Werewolves of Miller's Hollow are handled properly and then apply said changes to other team games like Not Alone and 2v2 Innovation ?
