Form sentences using your creativity (forum game)

Post by souly4 »

With the hope to acquire some new participants, I like to introduce a nice little interactive game which I discovered in other forums many years ago.

The principle is to look at the last word of the previous post's sentence and build a coherent new sentence with the single letters of that word, while these letters (in order) represent the starting letters of your new sentence. You could also just describe it as a type of abbreviation, though the more valid term would be acronym.

The sentences needn't make sense at all costs, but should at least be grammatically flawless. I give you three examples how it might unfold. It would be neat if everyone keeps the habit to display the last word in bold to highlight the relevance as well as enhance the clarity.

My mother is 42 years old.

Officers lack devotion.

Demons evoke various outward tension in our neighbourhood.

(oh well, that's a long word for the start, if you seek less challenge pick nation instead :))

Neighbourhood? Enough! In good humor bid officers unfaltering real help out of distress.

Note how much more difficult it's for us non native English speakers to concert the right words... While I suppose my passive vocabulary is decent, this requires another competence.

Also be aware that pure sentences are more elegant (only one punctuation mark altogether). Yours contains an exclamation mark, question mark, and a full stop. But that's only the 'artistic score' :)

Dangerous insects (spiders, tarantulas) ruin enchanting siestas surely.

Edit: switched it from 'safely' which I first thought would be applicable in a similar context.

Wow, really happy to see so many people invovled here now... When I first looked in this thread today (around two hours ago), there would be no new answer... But meanwhile it seems indicative that some perceive how fun this can be ;)

Our new opel (magenta) alters to obscure pink on easter, I assume.

*insert any smiley with a red face here*

I insinuate that you made that deliberately... very brave as it would reveal you have a mean or at least cheeky character :P

Hope such unnatural long words don't happen too often, as they could kill the thread long term...

If anyone feels capable of creating a remotely meaningful sentence with this, please go ahead. Otherwise I will tackle it tomorrow.
