Possible to customize or "house rules" in the future?

just wondering if customizing games like Race would be possible in a future update offering players a chance to create games to mix it up a bit from the usual.

i think a great feature to change with the game would be to switch the order of develop and settle so that settle happens before develop. Also being able to customize the deck to remove cards like galactic federation or galactic federation from the game before starting.

BGA is highly unlikely to implement any "unofficial" variants (i.e. ones not sanctioned by the game publisher), so I'm afraid the chance isn't very high.

That being said, I would like to officially motion for Galactic Federation to be removable from the deck. It's grossly overpowered in a two-player game. The game devolves into two players using all their actions to shuffle the deck/bag looking for galactic federation before the other one does. The player that doesn't draw it then tries to play only 1-cost cards to try to end the game before the other person can play it and win the game. So you have weird situations such as a player playing Alien Research Lab with absolutely no Alien cards in play, simply because the card is cheap and can make the game over faster.

As eoc pointed out, any unofficial variants are likely not possible on here due to the agreement with the game publisher. So removing specific cards from the deck is likely not possible. Personally, I like to play with the full deck of cards.

I'm curious as to what your thinking is behind this variant. Many develop cards affect your ability to settle, so you'd be significantly affecting their power for the worse. (There are worlds in the expansions that give you develop bonuses, but they are much less common and some of them are start worlds anyway).

I think the card is "pushed" as Magic players say, but not broken. There is not a ton of support for heavy Develop strats in the base game, and in the expansions, there are other, often better ways to blitz - for one, if you are playing with at least Gathering Storm, I think Terraforming Guild + a sequence of cheap windfalls will generally trounce develop spam.

Adding any additional options to RFTG in the near future is likely not going to happen. See here:
