Re: What is your favourite board game NOT on BGA?
Wow, this post has been ongoing for a long time! Reading the first entries....seems like many of those games have been added, so that means the admins here are listening. I hope the game developers are too - there are several games I've played for the 1st time here that I've went out and bought a copy of already.
Gave up trying to read all the posts, but I'm going to try and add a few I didn't already see that are favorites. Terraforming Mars & Scythe are obvious choices, for me at least.
Formula D & Circus Maximus - Both racing games, which I enjoy. Both are best with larger playing groups that are harder to organize offline. Haven't found a lot of games like Circus. Guess I should mention I'm talking about the old 1979 game published by Avalon Hill since it appears the Circus Maximus name has been used a few times.
Empire Builder - older train game. Similar to Ticket 2 Ride (*Although you can be blocked out of cities you have the option to temporarily use someone else's track for a fee.....might appeal to anyone who complains about blocking in T2R). Always a pain cleaning the crayon marks off the board at the end, but that wouldn't be problem here.

Hello Max . . . thank you for your post.
I am also astonished at how long this thread has been active . . . I made the original post nearly FOUR YEARS ago
It is interesting to me that so many of us who love playing board games here at BGA also love to play certain board games at home on the kitchen table. That is the intent of this long thread . . . chatting about the games we love . . . the ones we love to play away from the computer . . . the ones we love to play with family and friends . . . opening the box and setting it all up . . . covering the table with all the bits and pieces.
My favourite game . . . which I mention in my original post . . . is still Paperback (by Tim Fowers) . . . I love to play it at home. We play the co-operative mode . . . it is our regular Friday night game. I believe it is available online or with an app . . . not interested . . . I wanna play Paperback on my table at home.
