It is taking way more longer than expected, for many reasons, including:
_ we had stability issues with our realtime server since August (see "BGA release notes" forum about this). It tooks us between 4 and 6 weeks of work to fix this.
_ we had to change the lobby to introduce Arena mode, and this change was -very- heavy with a lot of feedback to process (8 weeks of work in total).
_ the Arena mode needs a lot of adaptations in many part of BGA, including the rankings, the trophies, the game UI, and of course the lobby.
_ we didn't want to postpone the new games release.

The Arena mode is now accessible to admins and we about to start the alpha test. If the result is satisfactory, we may open a public beta soon. If there are still some issues, we won't.

So basically: we hope to open the BETA this year, but it may be in 2020.

Every week I come in to see if arena already implemented, and every week I get sad.
