It is convenient to implement the possibility of finishing a game created whit option "no time limit", because
there are players who never finish these games if they are going to lose, so as not to lower their ranking.
Maybe if, after a month without anyone taking their turn, any player can finish them, even if it is for everyone to appear as losers, this can be avoided.

"Training mode" is what it's name said: a training mode. You can leave a game anytime without any penalty.

Because of this, you should not use Training mode if you feel that your opponent may quit the game when losing. You should use normal mode instead.

I do not use the training mode, the problem occurs in the "No time-limit" games. Of course, it can be avoided by never playing in such games ... but there are players who take advantage of newbies and invite them to this type of games, and then never finish them if they lose.

We cannot do much about this: we are specifying explicitly "With friends only" when using "no time limit" option, so you're not supposed to play with this option with players you don't know.

If it is misused, the only other option would be to remove the option.

You claim that players use the mode "No time limit" to cheat, but to be credible you need to cite the pseudos and table numbers concerned by the issue raised.

I can certainly cite at least one player, highly ranked, with many unfinished games (for many months), several of them against me.
But it doesn't matter, just red thumb is enough for me.
If you, or anyone, will know, it is easy to investigate. Higly ranked player, many games unfinished (all of them almost lost).

The public forums are not the place to cite the player names involved.

If there is abuse of a system going on, the best way to deal with it is to use the "report this player" link in each person's profile.

Unfortunately, while against the spirit of the site, not finishing no time limit games is within the rules. There are people who treat all activities as a game they must achieve a high score in, and for this site that means gaining a high ELO. After enough red thumbs, they will hopefully realize that the limitations on karma will show they have a low score on BGA.
