The notification button was moved?

I noticed the recent change of moving the notifications button from the main page to within your account settings. It costs an extra click to get to it now.
I dislike this immensely! I hope that will be changed back.
ThanX!

Hi,
Many improvements has been made on the top right section of the interface. The user menu is way more beautiful and useful than before.
The object of the user menu is to gather together all the informations related to your account. The natural place of the notifications is obviously inside this menu.
We totally assume that an extra click is needed to access notification: the benefits are clearly higher than the defects. I know that some of you disagree with this, but we know that the majority of players (who, by the way, do not speak on this forum) appreciate it.

In fact, this is the continuation of an existing thread in BGA release notes:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14514&p=53327#p53327
I've upgraded the thread.

Is there a way of turning off some(group/game/rewards related) or all notifications? In the preferences I see only part about Push Notifications.
the benefits are clearly higher than the defects.
Sorry to bother, but out of curiosity - what are these benefits, especially for not-mobile players? In the linked note there is only about preparation to some changes in the future.
And a bit weird note I understand as: while messages and notifications, including games notifications, are related to our account ("login menu"), the fact that we play here with this account is not ("main menu"). I guess the distinction comes from the way the website is coded, but for end user it is confusing and seem unnecessary. Like the fact that in "community" there is no messages and newsfeed from friends&groups. That's the community stuff too, isn't it?
