Arena - why mixing turn-based and real time competitions?

I find that it does not make much sense to mix the competition between turn-based and live players; the thing is most players will play one or the other, but not both. Therefore you end up with players in the same rank system that will never play against each other. It's really 2 different championship and I think it would make more sense to split them.
