Board Game Arena

Don't know whether this thought is of any use (even assuming its right!!) but the number of players and its impact on site performance seems likely to be related to the huge number of events, entertainments, etc which are closed now because of the coronavirus. People have more time on their hands which they can't fill otherwise!

Don't suppose there's much you can do about that though

Well, the BGA team is working hard to increase the performance of the platform. This means hardware, heavy hardware, not a RASPI, so what you can do is to buy a premium account to help pay the bills.
