Parental Controls

For parents who want the option to be able to provide a more moderated environment for their kids, I wonder if some controls could be introduced to restrict portions of the site that involve interacting with "strangers." Perhaps a parental controls section could be added to the profile management area with options like the following:

1. Setting a Parental Controls PIN for changing settings / turning off parental controls.

2. Turning off general chat.

3. Restricting game playing to friends only.

4. Restricting in game chat to pre-made messages.

5. Restricting video / audio chat to friends only or disable completely.

Of these, I am most interested in 1, 2, and 3.

My dad, my son and I play on here often. I haven't really had an issue with non-kid friendly content or interactions here (other than once seeing inappropriate messages in general chat) but I know some of my friends are more strict on what kinds of online interactions they allow their kids to have. Giving the option to restrict game playing to friends and disabling general chat would be a big win for these folks.

I came here looking for this kind of thing, too. I refill be a lot more young players than there has been previously with so many people in isolation. I was looking for ways for a kid’s age to be private, limit video/ audio/ unsolicited messages, but everything else as above would be what I would normally look for in an online environment for kids. Any ideas if it could be done?

I'd like to see these too, but I don't know if there are enough kids games on BGA to make it worthwhile. It probably needs to be done in conjunction with adding more suitable games for that group. Dream Home would be a great addition for that

Agreed on all accounts. A simple implementation might be limiting kids accounts to playing with friends (and locking down the friend list itself with a PIN)... Additional kid-friendly games would of course also be great, but some of the current games work quite well in that regard (kids are liking Sushi Go recently). :)

I would also love to see features like these - especially with covid-19.

Is there anyway we can get traction on support and what it would take to add? I'd even be happy to make donations to support.
