[Arena Mode] Why can an expert been pair with a beginner?

[Arena Mode] Why can an expert been pair with a beginner?

I've just tried my first arena match after learning this game for 2 days, and I met an elite level player in the matching system. Of course, he could have an easy win. :oops:

Why don't the system pair players of similar level of proficiency? :?

(P.S. I am not discouraged just by one game and I want to learn how to play better. Could anyone share some tips to advance?)

At the beginning of a season, matches are basically random until the ranking gets sorted out.
