Few carcassonne requests

Hi,

Can the whole board be spun during play? The river generally starts pointing downwards which can make a tall map which isn't great for wide screen monitors

Can the "in hand tile" be allowed to be rotated while you are waiting for your go?

I'm pretty sure , according to the paper rules, that the river can actually double back on itself if there is more than one tile in between. With this online version you can never double back no mater how many tiles are in between.

Thanks a lot

I'd second the first two proposals :)

The river rules that can be found in the big box edition are quite clear, they even show a doubling back. But some computer versions of Carcassonne (BGA, Koch Media/Deep Silver) prohibit it, perhaps to make it easier to verify tile placing. And if you allow it, you can run into trouble. Consider this:

right - straight - left - straight - left - straight - left - strai... uh oh. I followed the rules perfectly, but created a nice and swampy mess. So it makes sense to set some restrictions.

Asmodee Carcassonne (on Steam) allows doubling back. But not always, I tried some game starts, and the following sequence wasn't accepted: source-straight-right-straight-right. I was forced to turn left at that point. After 3 straights, I could turn left again (but got the 4th curve immediately after that, so I could not check if a 3rd left would have been possible). And that was about my 20th attempt.

Don't know about Brettspielwelt, JCloisterZone or mobile versions by Exozet or Code Monkeys.
